Halloween Weekend 2015 Recap

Another All Hallows Eve has come and gone and let's just say it was a CRAZY yet fun weekend here!
This last week every parent in Central Arkansas was eyeing the weekend forecast as we all begun to reach stalker status waiting and watching to see if our 100% chance of rain would disperse so we could enjoy our Halloween traditions without having to sport rain gear!
Friday afternoon Ant got off early so we decided to treat ourselves to a lunch date.
When you have three kids getting a real date out of the house is like winning the lottery so we jumped at the chance and played our numbers!
We opted for one of our favorites the Dixie Cafe.

If you are ever in the region where these are trust me and stop in for a bite to eat!
We love the family-friendly atmosphere and the food is always great.
I opted for my favorite baked potato and salad lunch combo and Ant chose the hamburger steak with mashed potatoes and chicken and dumplings. Of course we both topped it off with the south's famous sweet tea!
While at lunch Ant and I decided we needed a relaxing evening since we knew as long as mother nature would be nice our Saturday would be JAMMED packed with all things Halloween.
We opted for a quick and easy drive through dinner...

And of course to one of the best stores around Hastings to grab some movies to kick back too.

Our movie choices were Pixels, Southpaw and Max.
All were AMAZING choices in our book and have made our movies to buy wish list of course.
We were only able to squeeze in Pixels and Southpaw Friday night since I was back and forth playing taxi for our daughter Dakota who had a date that night at our local skating rink.

Saturday was go go go...
In the afternoon we teamed up with one of the neighborhood families and joined forces as we celebrated the spooky holiday.
The first thing on our agenda was trick or treating at the Outlets.

The idea was great but I honestly have to say that I was kind of disappointed to find that this was not something all of the stores were participating in.
I think that it should have been an all or nothing kind of deal but either way the girls all enjoyed themselves and that is what mattered.
Since the trick or treating was held later in the afternoon we did our one quick lap and then it was a rat race to get dinner in, adult costumes on and the game plan set for the evening.
I totally cheated and surprised the girls with some hot and ready pizza pizza!

Ant and I decided at the VERY last minute to join in the fun and dress up with the kids so we threw together our costumes maybe 10 minutes before hitting the block.
This was the FIRST year we have ever dressed up and I think it is something we should do again... now if Ant will agree....
Ant opted to squeeze into my dad's old firefighting gear and I threw on some make up to make it look like I was dressing up...
Maybe next year we will get it together!

We had our plan figured out and it was time to get our trick or treatin' on!
Round one we made the trip close to home before venturing off further.
This was the loot after our first round!
We decided for round two we would pile the kids young and old alike into the truck.
Our neighborhood in mind was a few miles down the road so we stopped and hit an extra neighborhood on the way.
The kids were super excited to reach our final destination. It is a neighborhood that I have taken my girls to for the last three years. They always do well there and most importantly they are safe.

Our final candy count!
The nights fun ended with a sleep over and a little movie
 we all call Hocus Pocus
and a very worn out Mom and Dad.

Sunday was ALL about relaxing and doctoring our sugar hangovers.
We de-halloweened the house and put all the decor into the attic.
We got the chance and watched Max and enjoyed the peace and quiet the day had brought.
Sunday Ant and I also celebrated our dating anniversary and did absolutely NOTHING and really enjoyed it!

What was your Halloween weekend like?

While We Were Away: A Weekend Recap

When I left you all Friday I figured we would have one of our typical weekends where we really didn't do much but relax and get ready for another week ahead.

BOY WAS I WRONG!

FRIDAY:
Friday evening was actually not so bad, we spent the evening watching movies as a family and enjoyed some good ol Taco Bell together before Alora was off to her friends house to spend the night.

SATURDAY:
Saturday morning was pretty relaxed as we hung out at the house and did a little cleaning up here and there. The three girls had a birthday-costume-slumber party to go to that evening so our main focus was putting the last minute touches on costumes, getting them packed up and ready to go and gift shopping...
Needless to say I STILL FORGOT the gift at home when I dropped the kids off... smh..

This weekend was the grand opening for our highly anticipated Outlet Mall!
It is located off the I-30 right next to the Bass Pro Shop

As a California girl... I AM IN HEAVEN!
Since the hubby and I were kid free and we knew that it would be a MAD house we took the opportunity to check it out kid free PLUS my hubby has NEVER been to one  (GASP!) and I  thought he would enjoy it better without trying to keep up with the kids too.

We took a few laps around the outlet featuring 75+ stores and since the lines for most of the stores were out the doors and wrapped around we didn't grab any deals but decided to go grab dinner in Little Rock since we were close by.
(I will share more about the Outlets soon!)

The hubby is a HUGE Chinese food fan, as for me... I like it but I burn it off so fast I am hungry again WAY SOONER then it is worth.

Since we don't go out often we decided to go to his favorite, Panda Garden.
Panda Garden is located in Shakleford Crossings off Shakelford.
It is a buffet style establishment and the family loves it!

I am more of the seafood buffet options that are on the weekend (which then of course adds to the price)

Me and the hubby got the seafood buffet and 2 sweet teas for right at $30.
After dinner we headed home for a movie and crashed like all old folks do.
Yeah we are some REALLY HAPPEN' FOLKS

SUNDAY:
Sunday morning me and the hubby decided  we would go ahead and do our weekly grocery shopping since the kids did not have to be picked up til after 12. If you are a mom like me you know how much FUN grocery shopping can be with kids...

After we got done I ran and picked up the girls from their party and I even remembered to take the poor birthday girl her gift!

That afternoon was Aaliyah's Fall Festival  at the school and of course that meant for more dressing up!

I took the three girls for a while to the school function where they played games to win candy, meet and pet some horses (Aaliyah was in heaven) and say hi to their friends!
Even Dakota ran into her boyfriend who was working the haunted house!

While us girls got into the Halloween spirit the hubby was over at our landlords helping her change out her locks on her house and avoiding the fall festival :)

We rounded off the evening with our normal routines and getting things ready for this week where we celebrate our move-a-versary, get ready for Spook City and still on the path of cleaning out the house...

Did you do any pre-Halloween festivities?
